Program Details

This University of Arizona study abroad program is an 8-week intensive Arabic immersion program held in the imperial city of Meknes, Morocco.

Project GO students will also experience organized cultural immersion activities through homestays, excursions to cultural and historical sites around Morocco, visits to local cafes and markets, attending a wedding, various cultural activity classes and presentations, etc. In addition to taking MSA, students may also opt to study Moroccan Darija or other dialects.

Project GO students are assigned a local student as a language partner and cultural liaison.

Prerequisites for students in Year 2 and above: 2 semesters of MSA allow a student entry to 2nd year MSA, and 4 semesters of MSA allow a student entry to 3rd year MSA.

All Project GO programs provide funding for:

  • Tuition/fees
  • Room and Board
  • Travel to/from study location
  • Books
  • Insurance
  • Visa (if applicable)

The following costs will not be included in Project GO Funding: personal spending money, personal travel, costs for obtaining a passport, medication, and expenses for dependents.

Please Note: Project GO participants planning to travel abroad MUST have a valid U.S. passport in their possession no later than 90 days before anticipated travel date. Many destinations require student visas, which take additional processing time. For further information, visit our FAQs.
