Program Details: 

VMI partners with The Education Abroad Network (TEAN) and the National Chengchi University (NCCU) to provide this eight week, 160-hour language program in Taipei.  TEAN specializes in immersive study progras throughout the Asia Pacific Region.  NCCU is a top 3 university in Taiwan with a large international population. In addition to the language training, VMI offers a Chinese History & Culture course that mixes classroom and local excursions. Program participants will be awarded six (6) language credits and three (3) civilizations and cultures (free elective) credits.

All Project GO programs provide funding for:

  • Tuition/fees
  • Room and Board
  • Travel to/from study location
  • Books
  • Insurance
  • Visa

The following costs will not be included in Project GO Funding: personal spending money, personal travel, costs for obtaining a passport, medication, and expenses for dependents.

Please Note: Project GO participants planning to travel abroad MUST have a valid U.S. passport in their possession no later than 90 days before anticipated travel date. Many destinations require student visas, which take additional processing time. For further information, visit our FAQs.

Additional Details: 

Non-VMI students are invited to apply for Project GO funding to participate in this program; however, since VMI is a Senior Military College, preference will be given to VMI cadets during the selection process.

How to Apply: 

Students must apply via the Project GO Central Application at www.rotcprojectgo.com.

Once selected by VMI's selection committee to receive a scholarship, the scholarship recipient must then apply to VMI via its Terra Dotta study abroad program.  Instructions will be provided following selection.
