Program Details

Study Persian in College Park, MD!  Just a few miles from our nation's capital, The University of Maryland's Project GO Program offers four levels of Persian instruction. Project GO participants are integrated into UMD's Summer Language Institute for Arabic & Persian and cover one full year of language curriculum in two short months. Additionally, students will live in university housing (meal plan included) and engage in regular program excursions in Maryland and Washington D.C. Weekly cultural activities will provide context for the learning that occurs inside of the classroom, and career and resume workshops will help students market their language skills. Students will also meet regularly with a Conversation Partner (a native or near-native speaker) and will participate in Language Clinics conducted by faculty.

All Project GO programs provide funding for:

  • Tuition/fees
  • Room and Board
  • Travel to/from study location
  • Books
  • Insurance
  • Visa (if applicable)

The following costs will not be included in Project GO Funding: personal spending money, personal travel, costs for obtaining a passport, medication, and expenses for dependents.

Please Note: Project GO participants planning to travel abroad MUST have a valid U.S. passport in their possession no later than 90 days before anticipated travel date. Many destinations require student visas, which take additional processing time. For further information, visit our FAQs.
