The University of Maryland Project GO program hosts students at the Arab American Language Institute in Morocco (AALIM). Alongside engaging classroom instruction, participants will live with host families, meet one-on-one with Arabic-native language partners, and participate in organized weekly cultural activities and program excursions to other parts of Morocco. Between classes, extracurricular activities, and time spent with host families, students will spend 50-60 hours per week engaged in-language with the goal of achieving ILR1 proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic, supplemented by first-hand experience learning the Moroccan dialect, Darija.
