Program Details

The Korea Language for Business and Technology (LBAT) program teaches language through content that focuses on the country's historical development, current issues, & business culture. Students will visit a mix of commercial and governmental institutions and NGOs to gain a heightened understanding of business operations as well as current technological and socioeconomic issues facing the host country. 

All Project GO programs provide funding for:

  • Tuition/fees
  • Room and Board
  • Travel to/from study location
  • Books
  • Insurance
  • Visa (if applicable)

The following costs will not be included in Project GO Funding: personal spending money, personal travel, costs for obtaining a passport, medication, and expenses for dependents.

Please Note: Project GO participants planning to travel abroad MUST have a valid U.S. passport in their possession no later than 90 days before anticipated travel date. Many destinations require student visas, which take additional processing time. For further information, visit our FAQs.

Additional Details:

Prerequisites: 

  • Year 2: 1st-year Korean (KOR 1002) or equivalent by the program start date.
  • Year 3: 2nd-year Korean (KOR 2002) or equivalent by the program start date.
  • Year 4: 3rd-year Korean (KOR 3001) or equivalent by the program start date.

Host Institution: Yonsei University

Lodging: Students will stay at Cozybox Guesthouse. Students will also have the option to participate in a weekend home-stay program.

Tutoring: Both Year 2 & Year 3 Korean LBAT students are paired with students from host institution (Yonsei University) for the entire program, and Yonsei University graduate students provide individual tutoring sessions to promote sustained language use. For the Year 4 program, students may also be paired with Yonsei undergraduate students to complete a class project.

How to Apply:

Prior to the scholarship application deadline, students only need to complete the online Project GO scholarship application. Students are also highly encouraged, but not required, to schedule a phone interview by emailing [email protected]. Following the scholarship selection process, students who are awarded a scholarship by Georgia Tech will be given instructions on how to complete the separate application process to the correct Georgia Tech study abroad program.
