Program Details

Embry-Riddle Project Global Officer (GO) is an intensive language and cultural immersion program provided to ROTC cadets with a Chinese language focus. The host institution is National Kaohsiung Normal University (NKNU) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Kaohsiung is the political, economic, and cultural center of Southern Taiwan allowing for participants to be immersed for two months with access to multiple cultural sites.

All students will be taught by both Embry Riddle faculty and local Taiwanese faculty. Classes will meet four hours each weekday in addition to tutoring and assignments required outside of the classroom. On the weekends, students will have the opportunity to participate in prearranged trips to the mountains, cultural dwellings, festivals, and museums. Students will be housed in double occupancy hotel rooms within walking distance of the NKNU campus.

  • Year Two Prerequisites: A minimum of one year of college level Chinese completed by May 2024
  • Year Three Prerequisites: A minimum of two years of college level Chinese courses or proficient Chinese language heritage students.
    • Year three students will reach a minimum of ILR Level 1+
  • Year Four Prerequisites: A minimum of three years of college level Chinese courses or proficient Chinese language heritage students
    • Year four students will reach a minimum of ILR Level 2
