This communicative course gives students a thorough introduction to Mandarin Chinese, with extensive practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing. This intensive summer course is equivalent of the two semester sequence in Elementary Chinese during the academic year. Classes are held in the mornings with afternoon tutoring and extracurricular activities provided throughout the week. Extracurricular activities include Chinese calligraphy workshops, cooking demonstrations, film nights, and visits to Chinese art and culture exhibits. Students will be housed in on-campus dorm room and provided with a meal plan.

Additional Details:
Project GO scholarships will cover the cost of course tuition for both in-state and out-of-state students, campus fees, textbooks, and transportation to the University of Kansas. Student housing and meal plans are also provided. All participants are required to live in double occupancy suites on the KU campus (exception for Lawrence residents).
